We're looking for driven, independent freelance front-end engineers to integrate with our full-time team on various ongoing and new project engagements. This contract position has potential to be both on-site or remote.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Use modern HTML / CSS / JavaScript web front-end technologies like React, Angular, Gulp, and Bower to develop visually stunning, user-driven websites, web applications & content management systems
Use environment management tools like Vagrant, Docker, and Ansible to provision work environments and projects
Maintain familiarity with content management and eCommerce solutions such as WordPress, Drupal, Expression Engine, and Magento
Develop requirements and planning documentation
Collaborate with the creative, strategy, and marketing teams to develop amazing products
Set up, manage, and configure hosting environments
Maintain well-documented, reusable, and transferrable code
Maintain working knowledge of new development software, trends, and practices related to your responsibilities
Proactively perform cross-browser testing and optimizations
Build with testing and goals in mind
QUALIFICATIONS
Self-motivated, independent, and well versed in freelance etiquette, with proven freelance experience on remotely-managed development teams
Expert knowledge of modern HTML, CSS, and Javascript
Expert knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: React, Polymer, or Angular
Expert knowledge of task/dependency technologies like Gulp, NPM, Fabric
Expert knowledge of pre-processing technologies like SASS and LESS
Expert knowledge of client-side optimization techniques
Expert understanding of the latest and legacy browser capabilities and restrictions
Functional knowledge of one or more of the following eCommerce solutions: Spree, Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento
Functional knowledge of one or more of the following content management systems: WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, Sitefinity, Umbraco
Functional knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: Node.js, C#/.NET, PHP, Python, Ruby
Functional knowledge of version control (GIT)
Functional knowledge of Linux, Mac, Windows operating systems
Functional knowledge of Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems
Functional knowledge of *nix / PowerShell terminal commands
Functional knowledge of client-side optimization techniques, UX best practices, HCI techniques, and web and SEO best practices
Experience connecting to third-party info using various API techniques
