Currently the team is maintaining following application:
•Conversations - a communication channel where experts in ABB can share their views and opinions in a authentic way, to "humanize" the company by showing the people behind the technology and demonstrate thought leadership
•Opinions - blogging community in ABB where employees and management share their opinions, views, knowledge and spark valuable discussions around business and non-business related topics that are relevant for ABB
•ABB TV - internal video channel where employees can easily share user generated video content that is relevant to ABB and have a internal communication channel for official management messages, training material and other initiatives
The team is also working on creating ABB Knowledge Base (Wiki) which is the collaborative sharing platform that enables people in ABB to easy document knowledge, know-how, guidelines and how to's.
You will be:
As a Tech Lead you will be responsible for selection of best technologies suited to the needs of WAT team and projects needs. In your hands will be creating custom functionalities of worldwide ABB platforms based on WordPress (Conversations, Opinions, ABB TV, and new Knowledge Base). You will work in close cooperation with Front-end and Back-end Developers, UX Designer, Business Analytic and QA team in SCRUM environment. Also on your side you will have WordPress experts who are involved in Kraków WP community, organizers of WordUp Kraków and WordCamp Poland 2015 conference.
Wymagania
You will be working on:
•Back-end tasks (>90%), front-end (<10%)
•Facilitating team decision about chosen technologies and approach
•Building SPAs approach in next ABB applications
•Developing new system modules and functions
•Maintenance of existing product
•Customization of existing solutions regarding customer requests
•Investigating reported technical problems, identifying and developing solutions
•Technical documentation
•Organization and maintaining good quality of code
•Unit testing (TDD – Test Driven Development)
•Other tasks as assigned
What you will need:
•Experience with PHP and WordPress (Plugins, Themes development from scratch)
•Very good front-end skills, knowledge of RWD (Responsive Web Design) processes
•Deep understanding of the value of good practices, quality code and unit testing
•Ability of debug, analyze, track and solve complicated bugs and performance problems
•Team player with rational approach
•Very good communication skills, also in English
•Be self-driven, self-motivated and self-learning
You must know:
•PHP (+3 years), OOP with Agile approach
•WordPress (+4 years)
•HTML5, CSS3 with RWD
•Vanilla JS, jQuery, AJAX, SPAs frameworks (at least one of them: ReactJS, Backbone, AngularJS, Ember)
•LESS / SASS
•Browser web developer tools
•Grunt / gulp
•Git with gitflow approach
•English
It's good if you also know:
•Bootstrap (based on SASS)
•MySQL
•TDD, PHPUnit, QUnit
•Timber / TWIG approach
•Linux servers with nginx, php-fpm administration
