Salary £45,000 Overview of Role:
As a Software Developer you should strive to find simple solutions to complex problems and care not only about the efficiency and maintainability of software but also about the way it helps other teams do their jobs.
You will work with a team of great people to solve problems creatively, using the latest technologies to deliver software solutions that will help make Denplan standout in a competitive market place.
Specialising in Salesforce development, you will provide the technical expertise to drive the development of our new Salesforce instance and its integration with our other core systems.
Responsibilities:
- Work with project teams to drive the tactical development of our Salesforce instance.
- Specialise in Salesforce development to support the rollout of Salesforce into other areas of the business.
- Provide the Salesforce expertise to design integration solutions with our other systems.
- Design, build and deploy high quality solutions to support business needs.
- Improve the scalability, resilience and efficiency of our core systems.
- Provide ad-hoc consultancy to the business and other areas of IT.
- Ensure the appropriate level of testing is carried in order to deliver high quality software.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and skill transfer.
- Analyse problems with a logical and timely approach and recommend solutions to resolve these problems.
- Pre-empt and overcome obstacles with a pragmatic approach.
- Carry out peer reviews and provide support and guidance where necessary to other members of the team.
- Complete accurate and concise documentation to support the solutions you deliver.
Main Contacts (internal and external):
With most of your time spent working on projects you will be working closely with Project Managers, Solutions Architects, Business Analysts, other Developers, Test Analysts and members of the IT Services team, to deliver software solutions. You will work in agile teams that will include business users.
There will be a need to liaise with our Care and Maintenance team from time to time, to provide technical consultancy on systems you have expert knowledge of.
There may also be the opportunity to work with external consultants and near or off shore software delivery services, which could involve some travel.

Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Proven experience implementing, configuring and enhancing solutions using Salesforce.
- Proven experience developing software in a commercial environment using C#.
- Proven experience developing commercial solutions using Microsoft SQL
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, JQuery, modern JavaScript libraries.
- Experience of managing code using a code management tool such as Team Foundation Server.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
- Working knowledge of virtualisation technologies.
- Working knowledge of networking hardware and administration.
- Experience of working with modern software architectural principles and design patterns.
- Experience of working with IT teams and business users in a customer focused environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt these to a technical and non-technical audience.
- Able to empathise with customers in order to establish the true priority of issues that require resolution.
- Able to establish the full details of a problem prior to devising an appropriate and effective solution.
- Experience of delivering projects using an agile methodology such as DSDM or SCRUM.
- Able to learn new systems quickly.
- Able to deal with changing priorities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
Qualifications required (essential and desirable):
- Technical degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert knowledge of Force.com skills including APEX.
- Ability to translate business requirements into working code with minimal supervision.
- Proven track record of delivering solutions using Salesforce.
Work Arrangements:
9am – 5.30pm Monday – Thursday. 9am – 4.30pm Friday.
There may be an occasional need to work longer hours where there are deadlines to be met.
Some travel may be required when working with near or off shore software delivery services.
