Your role in the team

As a Java Developer in Test, you can use your coding skills to make a difference to the quality of our products.

You could work on the automation testing of the Global Trading Platform which allows our Sports Traders to set odds for customers to place bets on popular sports. Or you could help develop cutting edge Retail technology that will enhance customers'  experiences in shops from the UK to the USA.  Our projects are varied and you'll be able to get your hands on new technologies - we're embracing AWS at scale, and you can join us on that journey.

Define new and improve existing test scenarios (feature files & step definitions) for automated tests.
Execute existing tests through an automated build pipeline
Undertake all aspects of testing using API Test clients like Postman or any commercial tools
Set up jobs within a CI tool from a source code management tool
Schedule time within development cycles to conduct individual ET within your immediate cell / team
Agree an approach for any defect fixes or enhancements to be implemented
 
Skills needed 

Essential:

Technical experience in  Java programming
Experience in developing test automation within an Agile environment
Proven experience in writing solid automation from the ground up –you will have the opportunity to explore each level of testing
Clear understanding of SCM and why we use it
Clear understanding of the key concepts of Behaviour Driven Development and why it is being adopted
You are an excellent communicator and facilitator. You will have colleagues in the UK and potentially further afield too, so excellent English skills are a must (both written and spoken)
Desirable:

Cucumber, API testing and queueing / messaging technologies eg. Kafka / Rabbit MQ
Configuring security profiles to run against webpages or API
Building the test approach based on NFR's for products within cells
Running basic multiple user tests for standard HTTP/HTTPS applications within the product cell
Demonstrating an understanding of monitoring, using data captured through tooling to feedback to stakeholders on metrics pre and post releases
Git, Jenkins, Gatling, Scala, AWS - it would be great if you are familiar with these, but if not, we can teach you.
