Your role and responsibilities:

• Developing a revolutionary app within international environment.
• Participating in code and technical design reviews.
• Writing clean code.

Essential skills for this role:

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in Android Development
• Bachelor’s or Engineer’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of newest libraries and frameworks for Android.
• Strong math skills or experience working on UI and SDK layer.
• Working experience with source control (Git) as well as MVC and MVVM architectural patterns.
• Fluent English is essential.

It would be nice to have:

• Knowledge of C/C++
• Familiarity with DashCam SDK

An introduction to Navmii   
Navmii is traditionally known as a GPS navigation company its software powers the navigation systems in the latest Lamborghini, Jaguars and Land Rovers. However, the company is much more than that, the main focus of Navmii is to create the best mapping data of the planet. There are two components to this goal:  

Traditional Mapping Data – This is automotive grade, navigation quality map data use for powering navigation system in vehicles. Unlike the old labour intensive approach of building map data, Navmii uses crowd-sourced open data combined with clever AI technologies to develop maps at a fraction of the cost of existing mapping companies such as TomTom, HERE and Google. We call this mapping produce eOSM and it’s change the entire mapping industry.   

HD 3D Map Data – Even more exciting is the work we are doing to develop the next generation of HD map data. This is exceptionally accurate data for autonomous vehicles. This data forms the basis for many autonomous drive systems. HD mapping data is very expense to produce, averaging a cost of between $100 - $500 per mile. Navmii’s approach uses low-cost next generation sensors, which are fitted to crowd-vehicles (think uber, lyft drivers and fleets like UPS) and cutting edge AI techniques to exact this data in real-time and encode it for use in self-driving cars. By using Navmii’s technology, we reduce the cost of creating this map data to $0.06 - $0.50 per mile.

Navmii has a number of offices around the world in San Francisco, London and St Petersburg Russia. The company is in the process of establishing a team of engineers in Poland to be a centre of excellence in development and research.
