Place of work: Kraków As a Senior Software System Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Providing application and system support
- Investigating and diagnosing issues with ETL and Hadoop systems, data and processes as a part of production support team
- Researching the problem, identifying root cause, developing and executing workarounds and documenting the work
- Developing tools to facilitate implementation of workarounds
- Working closely with Development and Architecture teams and internal customers
- Min. Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5 years of experience on similar position
- 2 years Linux Administration/DevOps experience
- 2+ years with ETL tools like Talend
- Strong Linux/Unix background and advanced scripting knowledge e.g. Python, Ruby, Java
- Shell and Bash scripting experience
- Experience with distributed versioning systems such as Git, SVN etc,
- Experience with VMware virtualization or Linux HA clustering is a plus
- Understanding of operations of Linux, Java, Apache and Tomcat preferable
- Knowledge of security technologies, practices, and protocols
