Responsibilities:- Collaborates with Architecture, Application Development, Enterprise DBAs, and Infrastructure for performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of multiple Oracle databases in a lab environment
- Perform proactive troubleshooting and root cause analysis of application and database-related performance issues
- Solve complex problems and provide clear and concise reports with recommendations
- Maintains expert-level, hands-on proficiency in relational database technologies, especially Oracle
- Stays current on latest technology offerings such as NoSQL, and Big Data
- Benchmark new technologies and DB platforms before wider adoption
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience as an Oracle DBA / Performance Engineer in a RAC and ASM environment (Oracle Certification a plus)
- Expert knowledge and administration of Oracle 10g and 11g databases
- Expert knowledge of database performance optimization and tuning
- Expert knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (diagnostic / tuning pack)
- Working Knowledge of UNIX Operating Systems including storage / network infrastructure
- Experience with Unix shell scripting. Python/Perl will be a plus
- Working knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, RAC, ASM
- Proficient in Oracle SQL. Knowledge of Oracle dictionary views
- Strong organization, analysis and problem solving skills
- Strong self-driven collaborator with abilityto workin diverseteamsasa contributing member
