Main Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive test cases to cover both UI and database level testing for both SIT and Regression testing
Creating, executing and recording the results of test cases
Raise & track defects, highlight potential risks
Ensures quality standards are maintained at all times
Create comprehensive and well defined test scripts that are traceable back to requirements
Execution of functional, regression and integration test scripts
Lead/participate in defect triage discussions and challenge development perception of severity
Co-ordination of test activities and work as part of a scrum team
Interrogate the underlying databases to extract test data and execute SQL statements to prove test results
Contribute to management reporting including appropriate test metrics on planning, defects and execution.
Ensure regression testing is performed in a manner that recognizes the risks of introducing defects into the environment
Support test management in developing project plans and track against key milestone dates
Reporting issues to management where these could have an impact on a major deadline
Required Skills & Education:
Degree in IT/Computer Science related subject
Minimum 2-3 years QA and software testing experience
ISTQB Certification required
Ability to schedule tasks to manage time and project priorities – support of Senior Team member will be provided if required
Scoping and creating functional and non-functional test plans and test data, maintaining the integrity of the test environment
Test estimation and test planning experience advantageous
Exposure to test in a financial services environment
Experience in interrogating SQL server databases through the use of advanced SQL queries
Testing of systems developed in .NET, C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server is advantagous
Experience with bug and issue management tools
