Responsibilities- Working closely with developers, engineers, project managers, designers and business partners across the organization to understand requirements and develop solutions.
- Managing and maintaining existing Unix-like server environments.
- Installing and configuring new Unix-like server environments.
- Researching and evaluating new technologies and solutions.
- Troubleshooting and supporting developer teams.
- Administering the network in the office.
- Creating documentation.
The ideal candidate profile
- 2+ years of experience as a sysadmin.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with JRuby, Java, Go or Node.js development stacks.
- Good knowledge of the following software:
- - Unix-like operating systems (preferably: CentOS, Ubuntu, OS X, FreeBSD),
- - IT automation software (Puppet, Chef),
- - open source database systems (MySQL, Postgres),
- - web servers (nginx, Apache HTTP Server),
- - application servers (WildFly, Apache Tomcat, Unicorn),
- - deployment software (Capistrano, MCollective),
- - monitoring software (Nagios),
- - Atlassian software stack (JIRA, Stash, Confluence).
- Experience with Cisco network equipment.
- Good knowledge of virtualization technologies.
